What a Race..

The 2010 Argus Pick n Pay Cycle tour has come and gone. The Driving Coach had 4 members taking part in this great event donning our cycle tops. I can only speak for myself when I say that it was not my best race.

The wind once again spoilt my plans finishing the race in style. I was aiming for 3 hours 30 minutes but was handed a time of 5 hours. Let’s just say that I was not in very good shape. At least I can console myself as my team mates also did not do so well either.

The run up the event was filled with tragedy with a few cyclists either killed or injured while preparing for the race. It has come to a point where cyclists are thinking twice to use public roads. As a driver, a cyclist as well as a Driving Coach I have a good understanding as I have experienced in all 3 instances. I know that some cyclist do not always obey the rules of the road. I am also aware that some drivers spare not thought for those on 2 wheels.

How many more people will die on our roads due to inconsiderate and reckless behavior?

We at the Driving Coach have a simple mission. We want to change the world one driver at a time. We want all our learners and those who prepare for their drivers to be more aware of fellow drivers and other road users whether on foot or 2 wheels.

We therefore want YOU to be careful out there. We want YOU to get to your destination safely. We at the Driving Coach care about you.

Have a great week
