The life of a driving instructor

As a driving instructor you get to see and experience really funny and scary things. This does not always come from the clients we are training, but from other road users. It has therefore become very clear that a lot of road users are not able to drive properly. What is scary is that a large percentage of South African road users are not licenced.

One of my cllients had to avoid an accident just last week when this person drove in front of us. Needles to say, my client was pretty shakin up. We did however learn a valuable lesson and my client is now more aware of what is happening on the road.

We get asked very often why we train the way we do and why there are so many observations to do on the road. I always tell my cleints that there are specific reasons why we do this. One of the main reasons is that it makes you more aware of what is happening on the road. You are therefore able to make decisions as to what to do and not get caught by surprise when another road user decides to drive in front of you.

I am exited to share my thoughts and experience with you , so look out for the next one.
